Episode 15 – Latvian Housewife In America

Alice Koko

This Episode is dedicate to a blog a friend of mine has created.  The blog is called A Latvian Housewife in America.  Alice is one amazing woman as you can see in her blog.  She has posts on. Cooking & Canning,   Many of the recipes are family traditions that she got from her mother and grandmother in Latvia.

Latvian Bacon rolls.

She not only creates the food, she grows it as well and is an avid gardener.  To top off all the housewife type skills, she also crochets things… and she does it with style.  She uses recycled clothes for the yarn.  You will find on her blog many things from scarfs to blankets to rugs made from recycled clothes.

Alice's Wall Art work.

Well if that is not enough tallent thrown in to one person, Alice is also an artist.  This picture is from a wall in her house and a much bigger & better version is found on her blog.

If all that is not enough, she also is a builder and designer.  She thought her cats looked bored so she designed and built them a playground from scratch. She also got out the hammers, saws and plaster, and paint and remodled her bathroom.  (Her advice to any women attempting to do the same,  “cut your fingernails before starting… you will loose them anyhow.”  . In Summary… YOU DO NEED TO CHECK OUT HER BLOG.
